Near and Far (a ten minute play)

Cast: 3f, teens to twenties

  • Seventeen year old Hope is looking for friends both near (at her boarding school) and far (online). At school she meets Caitelynne, who turns out to be not who she claims to be. She’s met Saiko online, but if a real person turns out to be fake, then how real can an online friend be? Does Saiko even exist at all?
  • Near and Far won Another Country Productions’ SLAMFest! Boston February 2006 Play Slam. It was named a finalist for the Ten by Ten in the Triangle playwriting competition in 2006.
  • Near and Far is a ten-minute adaptation of a full length play, Hope’s Arbor.
